Highveld Technopark expected to attract more tennants ? – Abacus DIVISIONS

The prestigious multi-billion Rand Highveld Technopark in Centurion – and its surrounds – is undergoing some substantial changes which are expected to make the office park more alluring to businesses looking for value for money rental premises.

This is according to Org Geldenhuys, managing director of Abacus DIVISIONS, the property management and marketing company, who said that one of the main improvements would be a vastly improved access to the office park, something that was “causing concerns in the past’’ – and arguably affecting tenant perception and the level of investment and rentals.

Abacus DIVISIONS recently landed a one-year contract to market the office park, including Central Park Offices, Manhattan Park, Time Square, Madison Square and Regency Court. The Highveld Technopark, which focuses on high technological research and development, is situated just south of the Danie Joubert Highway and houses, among others, Telkom’s National Operations Centre and Nokia Siemens Networks.

Among the new developments which Geldenhuys expects to again boost the popularity of the office park as a business rental destination include a Gautrain feeder bus route boasting seven stops in the office park; recent road infrastructure upgrades in progress within the park; and a newly constructed Witch-Hazel offramp from the N1, providing access to the park.

Geldenhuys said that, despite these improvements, the Highveld Technopark offered a slew of other benefits, including its close proximity to the Centurion central business district, direct access to major arterial roads – including access to the N1 and N14 highways – most of the office blocks within the Highveld Technopark boast excellent security and access control, and a drum roll of high tech and well-known companies as tenants.

Abacus DIVISIONS was instrumental in the marketing of properties and stands within the multi-billion RandRoute 21 Corporate Park near Irene, a high security/access controlled business park. The office park is now almost 90% completed and includes mostly A grade office developments and very stylish office buildings. There are also small components of neat industrial and warehousing developed within the office park.

Geldenhuys said the contract with Highveld Technopark will run for a year, adding that it is “open to review” at the end of this period.

He said the contract for Highveld Technopark developments “will run for at least a year” and is open to review at the end of this period. As part of the contract Abacus Divisions will market Central Park Offices, Manhattan Park, Time Square, Madison Square and Regency Court.
